Fabrics for the occasion without compromise on comfort

The fabrics we buy must be:

• animal friendly;
• comfortable;
• easy care; and
• beautiful.

So, for our pull-on-over-the-head dog coats (our speciality) we buy only warm, soft, cuddly polar fleece.

This fabric has enough one way stretch to make it very easy to put on your dog but also enough elasticity to let it spring back into shape once it is on. Dogs love their polar fleece pyjamas or jackets. These garments are soft, feather weight, snuggly and warm. Because of the combination of fabric and design, they stay in place without twisting around your dog's body. The also stay in place without the help of the hated back leg straps.

Polar fleece is super easy care. Simply wash your dog's polar fleece pajamas in warm water on a gentle machine cycle, spin and allow to dry in the air. Drying is quick and no ironing is needed.

We select the colours and patterns of the fabrics carefully and do not buy in bulk because we like to offer you something a little different. We appreciate that you don't want to see your dog coat walking towards you on another dog. We offer a range of plain colours for the more conservative dog as well as patterned choices for the more outgoing.

Raincoats for dogs

You will never buy from us one of those hard, yellow plastic rain coats that poke out on either side of your dog! Our raincoats are made of lightweight vinyl coated cotton or polyester that falls softly over your dog's back. These fabrics can also take a gentle warm machine wash (no spin) but usually need nothing nore than wiping dry and being left to air until the cotton  lining is also quite dry. The fabrics we select for your dog's raincoat are mainly in plain colours but we do also have the occasional more flamboyant finish, Purple snakeskin or silver diamond patterns are among the current offerings.

Overcoats

We find that the traditional blanket or saddle style of dog coat is not, generally, as successful than the pull over the head style. They are much more likely to slip: dogs can either get out of them or get tangled up in them. Nevertheless, they are sometimes more convenient for walking your dog so we do make them. Dogs who are not used to having their feet handled can be difficult to dress in the pull over the head style, too, so we make them for these dogs as well.

The fabrics we use in our dog overcoats are generally heavier than polar fleece. Polar fleece does not hang as nicely in this style so, unless we can get a double layer fleece we tend more towards a wool mix. These can also be washed on a gentle machine cycle in luke warm water.

No leather or any animal product!

Please note that we never use animal products in our dog clothing. Therefore, no leather, skin, suede or fur. Any trim that might look like an animal product is definitely not We use only imitation animal products.
